Chris Atkinson, former Chairman of West Linton Historical Association introduces the buildings, people and archaeology of this historic village. West Linton has for long been at the cross roads of travel between the Borders, the rest of Scotland and England. Firstly on the Roman Road, later on the Turnpike Road and then the Railway.
Evidence of all three remain, including rare examples of mileposts once marking the way and distances but sadly many were removed or defaced during World War II when there was growing concern about the threat of invasion.
